Tell the trapped bird that it’s free to fly anywhere it wants in the cage. Will it be happy? For some, that is enough, it’s familiar, it’s their small comfortable world. It’s safe. They get food and water daily at regular times and that’s enough for them to survive. If they entertain enough they will even get treats and other choice of food. The bird wonders whether it even needs its wings as big as they are. Some even forget they have them as they perch most of the day
For others, they see other birds flying high and low in the sky, choosing any tree they wish to land on, any town or park they wish to visit, mingling with any other birds and beings. These others sense that something is being controlled and limited upon them. The truth is not being told to them; their world feels suppressed, the story they are being told somehow doesn’t match up to their instincts.
For eons, mankind has been lead to believe that its life comes at a cost of being subservient to and at the mercy of an external ruling force, lest it face condemnation. The soul, my dear ones, is infinite and unbound. It is now, more than ever, a time of questioning everything.
